Job Description

Tesco is looking to hire an Assistant / Store Keeper who will be in charge of daily store operations, stock maintaining, and ensuring that there is a smooth flow of the store’s inventory. The position entails the necessity of caring for small details, being organized, having a customer-first approach to managing work, and thus, achieving efficiency and good service within the store.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept, store, and arrange products and materials in the storeroom or warehouse.
  • Keep stock records correctly and help to maintain inventory systems.
  • Help with the count of regular stock and audits.
  • Be sure that products are labeled and displayed correctly and are also given their proper shelf life so that quality can be maintained.
  • Help customers and staff with their requirements of products and the running of the store.
  • Comply with health, safety, and cleanliness standards in the store.
  • Communicate to your supervisor if there are shortages, damages, or any other discrepancies.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Successful completion of secondary school or similar; learning in stock control as a plus.
  • Experience in storekeeping, assisting, or retail operations is considered an advantage.
  • The basic understanding of the inventory system and stock management.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • The power to lift, move and re-arrange stock items to the required location.
  • The ability to notice small things in a customer centric environment.
