Roles & Responsibilities

1. Broadcast Network Operations

  • Manage daily troubleshooting, maintenance, and implementation of network infrastructure.
  • Support live studio, remote, and on-site productions.
  • Troubleshoot network problems affecting broadcast operations.
  • Maintain network infrastructure used by live sports production teams.

2. Live Event Network Support

  • Provide on-call network support during live broadcast events.
  • Quickly identify and resolve on-air network incidents.
  • Support studio, remote production, and contribution infrastructure.
  • Perform pre-show network verification and readiness checks.

3. SMPTE ST 2110 Infrastructure

  • Support and maintain SMPTE ST 2110 broadcast networks.
  • Work with multicast networking and IP media transport.
  • Support PTP timing and synchronization.
  • Work with NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 orchestration.

4. Network Hardware & Security

  • Configure and maintain network hardware supporting video, audio, and data workflows.
  • Manage monitoring and firewall security.
  • Support command-and-control and out-of-band management networks.
  • Collaborate with Amazon Security on architecture reviews and continuous monitoring.

5. Remote Production Infrastructure

  • Turn up and troubleshoot mobile network flypack kits.
  • Connect remote mobile production units back to data center infrastructure.
  • Support secure remote contribution networks and global IP-based communication platforms.

Detailed Eligibility Criteria

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of hands-on network engineering experience in broadcast, live production, or media infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with Cisco network equipment CLI.
  • Experience managing Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure.
  • 3+ years implementing and managing SMPTE ST 2110 environments.
  • Experience with multicast networking, PTP synchronization, NMOS IS-04/IS-05, and IP media transport.
  • Experience with BGP, OSPF, QoS, network security, and firewall management.
  • Working knowledge of IEEE 1588 PTP synchronization.
  • Experience with IP stream analysis and signal monitoring tools such as Bridgetech VB440/VB330 or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of Layer 1 networking and fiber infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting studio production environments or broadcast control rooms.
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, or similar infrastructure automation tools.
  • Willingness to travel to remote venues or studios as needed, up to 50%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent networking certification.
  • Experience with Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller (NDFC).
  • DNS, DHCP, and IPAM experience.
  • AWS networking experience, including Direct Connect, VPC, and Route Tables.
  • Enterprise network monitoring experience.
  • Live-production network change-control experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting carrier circuits.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, or macOS administration.
  • Bash, Python, or equivalent scripting and automation experience.
